Committed to Sustainability

Preserving our environment for future generations

Water management

Water is the most precious and scarce of our natural resources; for this reason, we make responsible use of it both in the vineyard and at saPerafita, reducing misuse and choosing osmotized water.

Photovoltaic Energy

We use solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint by harnessing photovoltaic energy and storing it in high-efficiency batteries.

Waste management

Recycling helps preserve the natural environment of the Albera and Cap de Creus, keeping the land and landscape unspoiled. Through this simple act, we care for the environment and promote more sustainable viticulture.

Collaborating for conservation

The collaboration between Martin Faixó and the Cap de Creus Natural Park, along with other local businesses and public entities, is a clear example of commitment to sustainability and the protection of the land. Together, they work on recovering local grape varieties that are well adapted to the region’s landscape and climate, promoting environmentally respectful viticulture.

This alliance also includes essential actions such as clearing undergrowth to prevent wildfires, preserving dry-stone constructions as part of the rural heritage, and controlling the wild boar population to maintain natural balance. These initiatives not only contribute to sustainability but also enhance quality of life and environmental education in the region.

BIOSPHERE Certificate

At Martin Faixó, located in the heart of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, we hold the BIOSPHERE COMMITTED Certificate, an international recognition that endorses our commitment to economic, social, and environmental sustainability. We work to strengthen the local economy, promote initiatives that generate a positive impact on the community, and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of our privileged surroundings. This certification highlights our determination to grow in a responsible, balanced, and respectful way for present and future generations.

European Charter for Sustainable Tourism - ECST.

The ECST (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism) is an initiative that promotes tourism respectful of the environment and cultural heritage in protected natural areas. Parks that adopt it commit to integrating sustainability into their management, fostering tourism that respects natural values and involves local communities. The goal is to balance conservation with the economic benefits of tourism.  At Mas Perafita we adhere to it and, within the Cap de Creus Natural Park, we implement concrete actions that connect sustainability, territory and community.
